The Fashionable Designer: Carolina Herrera

“It's very lean and very easy and very uncomplicated.”

I think the reason I admire Carolina so much is because she reminds me of my grandmother and this I mean as a compliment. My grandmother and even my grandmother dress/ed a lot like her. Everything fitted, well done, carried herself with an air of distinction and civility. Like Carolina, my grandmother has staples in her wardrobe. Carolina is known for her tailor crisp white blouse. I'm sure she owns hundreds and hundreds of them and they just make anything she wears that much more fabulous.

She always keeps her feminine distinctions and you can clearly tell she's the real HBIC. It feels lovely to have a Latina have so much influence and recognition in fashion. To be honest she's the typical woman in my family; elegant and poised but she means business and she can design like it's nobody's business. To me, she's a modern Coco Channel, a living embodiment of her brand and an inspiration. I need to look and act like her when I'm her age.

I found a few pieces that reminded me of her

Granted, we need to add some youth to her outfits but I think it's totally possible to be inspired by her.
