The French Got it White!

French Connection came out with some seriously precious pieces that I, for one, would love to own. My favorite has to be their sudden love for all things white. White blazers, pants, skirts etc. My friend and I agreed that we have to enjoy the white while we can, it looks awesome with our nauticals and it looks even better with corals, which our closet seems to be dominated with at the moment. And what better way to use your new MAC's At the Beach makeup than with white?

Here are some of the pieces that stood out to me:

Of course, one is not really to dress head to toe white unless you're attending The White Party, white is not black and as such you need to just play other pieces off of it.

Trend Look: The Oxford

I must say... I'm a sucker for oxford high-heel shoes. The pretty laces, the masculinity mixed in with the femininity. I just love it. I wear my brown ones with a happy floral dress to tone it down, love wearing them with tights or with jeans for a 70's structured look.

The oxford heels are all over the place right now, a love them MUCH MUCH more than I will ever accept the clog. So how about this for an alternative?
The New Oxford

I personally enjoy them with heels, they're sturdy and they tend to be comfortable. You can walk for miles in them! I remember my very first pair of high heel oxfords, I was in 9th grade and they were from this Asian store, cost me $10 and I LOVED them. Wore them until they broke.
How to wear them? Technically with nearly everything. I'm serious.

Dress them up!

Wear them to work

You see? Infinite possibilities! Thoughts?

Top 10 Faves: February!

Hi guys! I'm excited to be back! I had a lovely time off and I figured what better way to come back than to do a February top 10 fave outfits! I keep forgetting to do these polls, I hope I wont forget in the coming future :)

Here are the ladies which I loved <3

One of my absolute favorites; Michelle Trachtenberg. Always well poised in the red carpet, knows her body, her skin and her hair. This dress is no exception, gorgeous!

Carey Mulligan, quickly becoming one of my faves. This print dress is just stellar! Her pixie cut gets me every time, I love the blonde it suits her terrifically well!

Rose Byrne sporting a chic short red dress with black pumps. Oh so classic and simple but I love that she paired it up with a funky bracelet and soft caramel waves. A lovely update!

Gemma Arterton sporting another print dress fave with strappy print sandals. I would've thought it wouldn't have worked but she made it work! I also love her new hair cut!

Hayden, another fave of mine, looking so Jacki-O with a lovely thick coat and the contrasting peep toe shoes! The hair color is fabulous, I like her better as a brunette but what really gets me is the 60's elegance of this look. Love it!

For something a bit more casual, my girl Eliza Dushku wearing what most of us wear day to day. But of course she looks even more fabulous with it on! A simple tee, jeans and knee-high boots but what really gets me is the pop of red in her nails! That and her hair ALWAYS looks fantastic.

Queen of Fashion, Sarah Jessica Parker just killed me with this outfit here. The pink shoes, the hint of mustard-colored dress under that fabulous flared-out coat and the wink of a pink scarf is just perfection. I wouldn't have expected anything less from her.

Julia Stiles! I missed seeing her! How chic is this outside-look? The green coat, the gray thighs, the slick classic black pumps? I just love it!

Amanda Seyfried, another of my faves, she's so gorgeous in this getup I can't get over it! I think I have decided that blue is totally her color, she should wear it all the time. The cocktail dress is divine, so sexy yet sophisticated. The heels! Hello - the heels! Paired with a perfect abstract clutch, perfect makeup and a lovely up-do one of my favorite red carpet looks this month.

Everyday-chic, the lovely Sarah Michelle Gellar wearing what I tend to wear daily. A dress, a jacket, thighs and boots adding some large shades and perfectly blow-dried hair. Win!

Those are my top ten but I HAVE to give a shout out to my very favorite hair of the month. This goes to Miss Parker Posey who just killed me with this fabulous hair paired with even more fabulous earrings!

Beautiful!

Trend: The Return of the Clog

Trends come and go like seasons, what was out the last decade will be back this decade, what you hated years ago you will love tomorrow, etc. Fashion itself is a living, breathing organism that evolves and changes before our eyes. One wonders about many trends that come back and how we start out violently hating them when we see them and then slowly start liking them. Like at times can grow to LOVE.

This has happened to me many times. When platform shoes started replacing pointy-heels I was in a serious rage. I had a closet filled with pointy shoes that looked sleek and sexy and I refused to go back to the days of platforms which I had in High School.

Fast forward a few years later my closet is dominated with platform shoes. I'm not sure how it happened but the story of someone stealing my credit card, buying all these shoes and then returning both the shoes AND the credit card has failed to convince a good many people hence I've had to take full responsibility for it. And now the time has come again to face an old foe.

The clog.

My memories of clogs extend to my mother wearing them in photos with large floppy hats in her hippie days. I had my own rendezvous with hippie-ness in 2000 when I wore more flowy skirts than recommended by the American surgeon general but I happily grew out of that phase and began bathing sometime in '01. Now a decade later I can say the words I never thought I'd say again: 'Here comes the clogs'.

We can mainly blame Chanel who featured them prominently in their Fall collection this past year. So a few months and many illegal uses of sweatshops later we have more clogs than I can handle at one given time.

My opinion on this new beast is still on the fence. On one hand I can see some refinement coming to these basic shapes that I am grateful for. On the other hand, like all elusive trends, it can get out of hand. More flowy-unbathed individuals can come from this, people, we need to be made aware!

So I ask and tell; what do you think of this baby? Are you passing? Are you being swayed? Were you in clog-camp from the moment you saw them in the Fall? But even more importantly; if you liked it, how would you wear it?

If I were to wear them, which is still an IF... I would wear them paired with this season's neautrals which fit the line of thinking of the clog. Yet I wouldn't forget a structured purse with it because I need some structure in this and of course a girly dress.

So how about it, what does thou think?

The Case of the Stolen Soledentity

Yes, I know it happens everyday. A designer creates something lovely and it gets doubled everywhere for a cheaper price. It's the nature of the business of retail. Happens with everything from cars to cellphones to shoes. I will admit to waiting around for something cheaper to come on by. I'm not going to deny it.

But the one I found today was so crazy and so upsetting because I bought these shoes when I first saw them at regular price months and months ago. And now, not only are they on sale but they have a twin. Literally a twin.

This is the Madden Girl I bought some time ago when I felt my wardrobe was incomplete without a gray ruffled shoe. Today I'm browsing the net and find this on Target.com

Yes. They're different shoes, there's slight differences but they're so freaking similar that it's crazy! And this pair is 1/4 what I originally paid. Granted, the fine people at Steve Madden most likely got the idea from this Louboutin pair

So this got me thinking. In an age where styles and trends come and go faster than people over the rainbow; what is your view on shoe-doubling or trend doubling for that matter.

Current Favorites: December

A bit late, I'm sorry but here it is. The December favorites!

Bonnie Wright: wearing what I would usually not like, all these colors and patterns but I actually loved the look! I most especially love how a redhead doesn't shy away from wearing a coral-toned jacket & it look fab!

One of my faves, Emily Blunt, who pulled this relatively simple yet super classy look out. I just love the tights, the scandalously-short dress and the pink lips to throw in the color!

Can Amanda Seyfried's hair ever look bad? I think it's impossible! What I really love about this look is the blouse, high necked and yet sexy!

Perfect makeup and perfect YSL shoes on Leighton Meester, I dont think she knows how good she looks in black, makes her fair skin really glow.

Amy Adams look so elegant with this beautiful gray coat lined with red and then the red wink on the soles of her Louboutins made me fall in love with the outfit. It's something I would totally attempt to pull.

Not a usual December look for sure but Hayden Panettiere made me fall in love with how simple, chic and sophisticated she managed to look in the beach. Something that never happens happened. It made me want Summer.

I dont think Nicole Kidman knows how happy she made me by wearing a 'pouffy' dress. I LOVE 'pouffy' dresses! She looks elegantly classy, with timeless shoes and the perfectly put together hair.

Because Penelope Cruz had to go out and prove to us how gorgeous she really is she puts on this stunning red Grecian gown. Liquid silk. So beautiful! But my favorite part? The 40's do. It's perfection!

The ladies of 'Nine' really made it hard for me to choose a favorite look but I couldn't ignore Kate Hudson who made me fall in love with this retro-inspired dress. I mean, how intricate and beautiful is it? And then the soft curls in the hair? Perfection! I love that she carries it with such sass.

The last spot goes to the Affleck-Garner family because seriously... how much more beautiful can they get? I honestly dont think it's possible. I have been wrong in the past.

Trend Love: Oversized Glasses

How fab does Kaley Cuoco look with her thick large black glasses? I'm a big glasses lover myself and this bold approach to them is just making me drool. So much, in fact, that this Saturday I went and got myself new ones. I just love them! I found a few fabulous frames online if you're also feeling the trend:

Wetseal, $7.50, Rayban, $115, Brooks Brothers, $87, Dior, $148, Persol, $197

Current Favorites: November

It's that time again! To drool over the celebrity looks that have been my favorite this month and for you to vote and see which you liked.

Leighton Meester looked cool and smooth in a tights gray dress, paired with a fitted leather jacket and booties. I'm convinced these types of outfits are her fave, she always looks relaxed. Her hair is also amazing, bouncing brown curls & check out the navy blue polish <3

Hot mom in charge looks so well and put together with a tailored coat, a frilled shirt underneath and chic glasses. You would've never thought she's attempting to handle her two boys. Props to her!

Mila Kunis looks super sleek and adroable in this silver number with the coveted blazer on top, paired with her fab black pumps and smooth pony tail I have to say I adore this look.

Jennifer Garner look amazing, even if she's just running errands. The mother of two threw on her comfortable but fab black dress and comfy thick-heeled pumps and she was done yet she looks photo-ready. Can we hate her? Nah, she's too nice.

Sporting the little black dress, Eliza Dushku plays it beautifully by adding gray accents to her ensamble. The shoes, the clutch make it great and her hair looks soft and natural. Nice!

One of my favorites, Michelle Trachtenberg always looks awesome even if she's just getting coffee. Skinny jeans, the boots, the blue bag, the soft hair. Perfection. Seriously, she never gets it wrong in my eyes.

Blake Lively's edgy and daring outfit could only be pulled by her. No doubt she's got the bod to match it but what I really liked was the black & white combo here that went all the way to her shoes. The soft updo also gave it a bit of a timeless vibe and Blake is a fan of the nude nails which are perfect since this is a bold look, making them red would've screamed Vegas.

Hotness in perfection is Claire Danes. The dress is gorgeous, her shoes are... well you know I love those shoes! I adore this entire look, she looks relaxed and comfy and the hair is simple and straight forward. I also have to say I am seriously coveting that bracelet, it's a stunner.

Leann Rimes looks perfect just running around town. She paired her fave jeans with a thick but fab sweater vest and her boots. To avoid looking a hotmess while just stepping out she wisely slicked her hair back and added large sunglasses. Smart woman. I also love her necklace, it's simple and understated.

I have nothing but love for this Natalie Portman outfit. The colors are vibrant, yes, but they flow together so nicely. It's sophisticated and it doesn't look like she's trying too hard. I love the hair and the makeup. Plus see her nails, since she's got so much color going on in her dress she opted for nude nails. A+
