I burn. I pine. I perish.

Seriously... I think Nina Ricci show for Fall is just about the best thing I've seen this year. I mean... isn't is just the loveliest? I am so in love with it!

Is it Fall yet?

Perfection! Just perfection! I think I need everything in the collection and I need to stuff it in my closet. Mine!

Look at the lace, the silk, the coats, the ruffles! It's just all love!

Shopping till you drop in Style

I know we've all been tempted. It's finally the weekend, time to shop with a friend or alone which ends up in lunch and maybe movies by the time the day ends. We all have those, yes? Those are usually the best days. This is in no way an excuse to leave the house looking a hot mess. I'm looking at you, person who left the house is thorn jeans, hair in a knitted beret and no make-up. Yes, you.

The best is to find an outfit that will last you all day according to your style, that it's comfortable and perfect for the post-shopping activities.

The Casual Shopper. Loves jeans, comfortable sweaters, a pop of color and a bag that lets you use both your hands to shop. Wedges are a great replacement to sneakers or flats because they tend to be comfortable. This outfit also carries you to either meet the boyfriend for a casual dinner after you've just scored some awesome jewelry on sale.

Jeans, TopShop $80, White tank, James Perse $45, Cardigan, Splendid $72, Purple Wedges, BCBG $89, Purse, Calvin Klein $138, Necklace, Banana Republic $46, Polish, Nubar 'Pyramic Purple' $7.50

The Trendy Shopper. You always make sure that you look the HOT thing when going to buy more hot things. So comfy shorts with tights for the cooler weather suits you fine. Low booties are perfect for trotting around town and this outfit fits you perfect for catching a movie right after or perhaps attending the live performance of your favorite acoustic band.

Shorts, TopShop $55, Blouse, Paul & Joe Sister $72, Stockings, Forever 21 $5.80, Boots, Jones New York $80, Purple, Marc by Marc Jacobs $198, Earrings, Kate Spade $38, Bangel, Charlotte Russe $4, Polish, OPI 'Pink Flamenco' $8

The Lady-Like Shopper. While browsing Chanel it means you can't look like you're browsing at Old Navy. Even if you're wearing O.N. You're to look like the Park Avenue Princess you believe yourself to be. This outfits lets you fit in perfectly at Saks and it's rightly perfect to catch that Fall play you've been dying to see.

Dress, Fred Flare $30, Cardigan, Jcrew $98, Tights, Nicole Miller $21, Shoes, BCBG $50, Purse, TopShop $70, Necklace, Old Navy $14.50, Ring, Betsey Johnson $35, Polish, Essie 'Ballet Slippers' $8.50

The Preppy Shopper. Clean & classy, this is your style. There are sales at the Kate Spade outlet and you've marked it down on your blackberry. You conquer the shops and this is perfect to meet up with your old roommate at a posh desert restaurant for heavenly cheesecake and cappuccinos.

A Girl's Guide to Saving and Stylin'

Five cheap ways to update your Fall wardrobe without breaking the bank.

It's here. Fall, my favorite time of year. The time when I can say 'screw you flowy dress and pink polish!' and say hello to warm clothing, Pumpkin Spice Latte and Fall leaves. Not that we have any in Florida but a girl can dream.

I've already calculated that I have spent entirely too much in an attempt to 'Fallize' my wardrobe. If I would've done this to start off with I could've had more $ to update my DVD collection.

So what do you need this Fall?

1. Booties
You must have a pair of booties. It's a must. You can get a high end pair or you can get the cheap alternative in order to save bucks for that thing called Christmas coming up.

Here's a few from Go Jane, all under 40 bucks!

2. Patterned/Lace Tights
This will Fall-ize any Summer dress and will keep you warm when the wind starts blowing, plus they look AWESOME with the booties.

These beautiful ones found at Banana Republic are $19 but you can pick some up at Target for half that price. I know I already did. Be careful with them, when taken care of they can last. Hand wash them and hang them to dry and always carry a small bottle of clear polish to stop runs.

3. Dark Polish
It's a truth universally acknowledged that in the Fall nails turn dark. You dont have to be a compulsive nail-a-hollic like me. One good color can last you for a while if you find the perfect one.

A bottle of OPI will cost you $8 and the last on them is worth it or you can go for a cheaper alternative and Sally Hansen has never done me wrong. The line of Insta-Dry is no joke. It literally dries in a minute. And all you need is ONE coat.  You can get them at any drugstore for about $5.50 a piece. Remember - dark. (Jumpin' Jade, Uptempo Plum, Blazing Blue, etc.)

4. The Blazer / Military Jacket
Thrown over a basic tank or a flowy dress sharpens the look for fall. Like the one below from Forever 21 which can be purchased for about $23.

I got my blazer at the Thrift Store super cheap plus dry cleaning. Totally worth it and updated my look without breaking the bank.

5. Pearls!

This time around leave the dangly, oversize Gypsy earrings at home and opt for a thick bold pearl necklace. Necklaces are huge right now and adding some femininity to your LBD while pairing your new stockings & booties will scream lady-like rock princess (dont forget your dark polish).

Found this stunner at American Eagle for under $20

If you were to update your closet with a few essentials shown here you would've spent a total of about $100. Not too shabby, eh?

(notice that I ignore animal print and fur all together. I just can't handle it, I cant. Anything animal-like is not my thing but they are big right now.)

Also. I am now Twittering. This is a new concept for me so bare with me as I try to sound cool and aloof via phone texting while I'm really attempting not to rear-end someone while twittering and drinking coffee.

H&M: Fall Must-Haves

So I adore H&M. Each Christmas when I visit my family in Michigan I stop by the H&M there and I stock up on goodies so imagine how elated I was when I found out that they're opening one 38 min from my house (yes, I mapquested it, what do you take me for?). And here are some of the pieces I MUST have. MUST. I'm serious.

coat/jacket $69.95

green skirt, $29.95. golden patterned skirt, $34.95

What happens usually during the year if I find something I am just CRAZY about and can't buy it because I live in the middle of nowhere is that my cousin buys it for me and sends it my way. Hopefully it fits but now I wont have to go through all that trouble!! I'm so excited!

I did spy something disturbing while surfing the site that just made me want to shudder.

yes. They're leg warmers. You know, where I come from when your legs are cold you put on pants. I mean, apparently you can get creative with it but under no circumstances are you to wear koala bears on your legs. Animals belong in trees and trees are in no way to be confused by 'stems' or 'legs'. The sad thing is that for 17.95 a lot of little fools will purchase these and make me cringe on Friday nights at the movies. Just you wait.

bouquets of freshly sharpened pencils

The question that comes to mind is why are women obsessed with shopping? Why do we do it? What is it about a shiny new handbag that just draws us in like a moth to the fire? What is it about InStyle being thicker than usual that just makes us want to cancel our afternoon plans, curl into bed and inhale it along with a pint of Coffee ice cream? You know you've done it, your grabby hands finally get the Fall edition of your favorite magazine and it's like Christmas in September! It's like Santa has arrived! It's like a 50% off sale at Bloomingdales! It's like - well it's like Fall Shopping!

Ahhh... Fall fashions. My very favorite time of year. The weather changes, the environment turns golden, TV shows come back on, Summer is done (you can now enjoy fried foods, thankyouverymuch) and you find your mailbox stuffed with the most delicious, decadent, thick magazines a girl could wish for. Really, you dont believe you could be any happier unless Chuck Bass himself was stuffed in your mailbox. Your mind instantly begins working on how exactly you will be able to get away from everyone and anything and enjoy these lovely gifts at your favorite spot.

The only thing that comes to mind is Starbucks. I know, it's nearly sacriligious to speak or even think of overpriced mediocre coffee in our hard times but if this was really a blog about world peace and frugality I might feel bad. But this is not about that - this is about forgetting for a minute, you and your $4.79 magazine can conquer the world. You can mark with your favorite gel pen or trusty sharpie all the goodies you would buy if you could. That's what this is about; it's about loving shopping, loving the theraphy it brings and after all, loving being a girl. Because honestly, are we cute or what?
