Fashion Trend: The Statement Skirt

It's no secret that Spring is a time for happy-fun colors, colors that make a statement. So can you be surprised that my favorite trend is the statement skirt? I love a lovely bold skirt and when you find a good bold skirt, it'll be in style year after year, you just pair it up with different accessories and it's instantly updated. You can find a Statement Skirt nearly anywhere these days, I found some lovely ones online. The great thing about this type of skirt is that paired with some flats it can be a perfect Sunday morning, stroll in the farmer's market ensemble. Paired with strappy, sparkly heels it's perfect for a party. :)

The Ballerina Effect

There's something magical about ballerinas, isn't there? They're graceful, a dance work of art. I just adore the entire look. They're as girly as you can get. I used to be a ballerina for 3 whole years from age 5-8. I had my tutu, my pink tights, my fabulous bodysuit. I think my mother enrolling me as a child for ballet has given me a lifetime of flexibility because I can still stretch better than other people even if I fall off my exercise routine.

Waldorf: The Riddle of the Houdstooth and the Buttons

It's no secret that Blair Waldorf is a fashion icon and as fashion icons go it's only natural that I wait anxiously for new stills to see what Blair is wearing because quite honestly if I could just own her closet I wouldn't want anything else for the rest of my life. Agreed? Agreed!

So when I saw her in this Alexander McQueen hounds tooth blouse I about passed out because this outfit is so decidedly her and so instantly classic that I lusted after it for a few minutes before decided that this can be replicated.

The blouse she's wearing goes for about $939 :( totally can't afford it.
